ReSound Sensia

ReSound Sensia automatically combines AI noise reduction and 4-microphone beamforming to bring forward the voice you want to hear in a small, rechargeable design.

ReSound Sensia

Have you ever been at a busy restaurant and found that your hearing aids picked up the loudest voice in the room instead of the person sitting across from you? ReSound Sensia is designed to solve exactly that problem, automatically focusing on the conversation you care about while keeping the small size and all-day battery life ReSound hearing aids are known for.

Three Smart Features Working as a Team

Sensia uses a system called Intelligent All-Around, which brings together three features that work as a team so you don't have to.

Think of it like a small crew inside your hearing aids, each with its own job:

  • A sound detective (AcoustIQ) constantly listens to your surroundings and figures out what kind of place you are in, whether that is a quiet living room or a noisy café
  • A spotlight (4-microphone beamforming) uses microphones on both hearing aids to focus on the voice in front of you, so you can follow someone simply by looking at them
  • A noise filter (AI noise reduction) uses artificial intelligence to quiet the chatter, clatter, and music around the person you are talking to

No More Switching Settings in Noisy Places

With many hearing aids, getting the best help in noise means pressing a button or opening an app, and Sensia takes that step off your plate.

In the top Sensia 9 level, the hearing aids recognize when a place gets noisy and automatically turn on their strongest noise help, so you can stay in the conversation instead of fiddling with settings. The goal is to bring forward the person you are trying to listen to, not just whoever happens to be loudest. In testing by ReSound's maker and an independent research center in Germany, Sensia made the person in front easiest to hear for 80% of participants, though this measured which voice stood out most rather than how many more words people understood.

Styles, Options, and Battery Life

Sensia comes in many shapes and sizes, from tiny behind-the-ear models to custom styles that fit inside your ear.

  • Rechargeable mini behind-the-ear style (microRIE)
  • Behind-the-ear styles with replaceable batteries
  • Custom in-the-ear styles, including rechargeable options

Sensia 9 offers the full automatic experience, Sensia 7 includes strong noise help you turn on yourself, and custom in-ear models offer focused hearing in noise without the AI noise filter at launch. The rechargeable models are rated for at least a full day of use (up to about 30 hours depending on how you use them), and the premium models are built to handle sweat, rain, and dust.

Easy Streaming and Listening in Public Places

Sensia connects easily to the devices you use every day and to a new kind of public sound system called Auracast.

  • Stream phone calls, music, and TV audio directly to your hearing aids
  • Listen to Auracast broadcasts at theaters, airports, and other venues with a tap in the ReSound app
  • Telecoil option for traditional hearing loop systems on select models
  • A special version for people who wear a Cochlear Nucleus implant in one ear

Auracast works on Sensia right away, without waiting for a future update, and in a ReSound study people rated Auracast sound more favorably than older hearing loop systems. If you have a cochlear implant in one ear, ReSound Sensia Bimodal is designed to work together with your Cochlear Nucleus processor.
